Geneva Motor Show

Detroit Auto Show 2002

Europe’s biggest and most important biennial gathering, the Frankfurt Motor Show, has seen the simultaneous launch of the 5th generation of VW Golf and Opel Astra, two of Europe’s top-selling models. Ford has unveiled the first production models based on next year’s new Focus platform – the Mazda3 and Volvo S40 sedan. This is also a significant event for BMW, with the debut of the new 5-Series sedan, 6-Series coupe, and the all-new X3.

Surprise concept vehicle debuts included the top of the line Opel Insignia, the Jaguar R-D6, and the Audi LeMans mid-engine V10 concept. Lancia showed the Fulvia concept in a stylish recreation of the original Fulvia debut, and Skoda impressed with the Roomster concept.
