Oct 16, 2003 – Honda claim that the essence of their global brand is founded upon and expressed in the slogan 'The Power of Dreams'. Their chosen theme for this years Tokyo Motor Show is 'Free Thinking; Liberating Technology', which "introduces the bright and exciting world of people and cars that Honda aims to create".

Honda will show 16 different models and has created four new concept cars (but no people!) for the Tokyo Motor Show. Amongst them, the ASM is the concept car most closely related to a new production car, in this case the Odyssey minivan that will be shown alongside it.

The ASM has the same new platform as the Odyssey with its low floor made possible by new technologies, something that several of the new Hondas at Tokyo will feature. This has the benefit of lowering the H-points of the occupants for a lower center of gravity and enabling the roofline to be lower also.

The ASM’s main purpose is to showcase some of the high technology luxury features and material finishes that won’t be immediately available in the production Odyssey.
