

Magna Steyr is looking for a Transportation Designer and a CAS Modeller to work for 12 months in our design studio in Graz, Austria. The work for both positions involves concept and production design for various vehicles including cars and trucks.
With over 100 years experience, Magna Steyr's range of services makes us the leading global, brand-independent engineering and manufacturing partner to the major OEMs, and positions us at the cutting edge of the automotive supply industry.
Our design studio in Graz (Austria) is renowned for its "mila" showcars and for having developed the designs of numerous OEM cars and car components through to production. The studio currently has two 12 month positions open:
Transportation Designer
Your activities will include:
• Concept proposals for various types of vehicle (cars, trucks etc)
• Design solutions for concepts, showcars and production cars
• Detail design of exterior and interior components
• Assisting clients to develop their concepts through to production
• Coordinating our suppliers during the projects
To suit our requirements, you should have:
• Successfully completed a design degree
• A high level of motivation and enthusiasm
• Very good team skills
• 3 years professional design experience (preferred)
• Excellent sketching and photoshop skills
• A well-developed sense of manufacturers' brand identities
• The ability to communicate in English and/or German
• A high level of technical knowledge regarding vehicle design
CAS Modeller
Your activities will include:
• Transforming car and truck concept sketches into 3D
• Spectrum of work from sketch modelling through to class "A" surfacing
• Visualising in Showcase and Bunkspeed
To suit our requirements, you should have:
• Successfully completed a design/modelling degree
• A high level of motivation and enthusiasm
• Very good team skills
• 3 years professional modelling experience (preferred)
• Excellent Autodesk "Alias" skills (from concept to class "A")
• The ability to sculpt with a well-developed sense of form and proportion
• The ability to communicate in English and/or German
• A high level of technical and surface-quality knowledge
