Within its compact footprint, this Finnish design offers space for three people, placed so that they do not directly interfere with driver tasks, and a variable outside storage solution for bulky items like two bicycles.
The name Biohive is derived from its frame structure that utilizes principles of biomimicry, and to reflect the social aspects of the vehicle, which, as Timonen describes: “the ‘Hive’ character is emphasized with each passenger’s individual comfort zones, and in how the parked vehicle turns into a micro lounge for small social private space in heart of city”.

Biohive was notable for receiving the highest score for ‘innovative and functional glazing design solutions’.

Note also the scissor doors, extensive glazing, rear facing front passenger seat, ‘spine and ribs’ seat design and wide tyres of this three wheel car.
