Buick Vanguard
Milton Ruiz
My concept focused on the Buick brand for emerging markets specifically that of China where the brand holds its strongest global presence. The Buick Vanguard, a concept that focused specifically on the emerging Chinese market where the brand holds a strong presence, is designed for the year 2027 and its purpose is to build upon GM's efforts to revitalize the Buick brand in a global sense. It is a departure for the brand in the sense that it is catered to a younger demographic with the aim to build a long-lasting relationship with Buick buyers.
Based on traditional Buick's brand attributes of elegance, comfort and driver-friendly technology the Vanguard is a metaphorical representation of its name as it demarks the evolution of the brand by featuring a style with a modern, sportier and youthful twist.
The Buick Vanguard also features state of the art technologies, materials and production processes that have the goal of reducing the overall size and weight of the components of the vehicle without compromising aesthetics for performance, fuel-efficiency and vehicle packaging configuration purposes.
The Biodiesel powered generator engine is an extension of the E-flex system's green aspect by promoting the consumption of fuels made from natural sources whose production is not limited to nations with specific terrains or types of crops; therefore, contributing to the self-sustain of each market.
GMC Terra-Flex
Tyler Moffett
The GMC Terra-Flex asserts to reconfigure the e-flex platform to achieve compatibility with light duty, task oriented vehicles. With the prospect of improved battery longevity and reduced spatial requirements necessitated by current e-flex technologies, one can predict e-flex success with platforms such as small pickups and utility vehicles. Moderate towing capacity, versatility, and payload capabilities are necessary while maintaining or improving range of battery, and ultimately, emissions.
Features included within the Terra-Flex concept maintain pertinence to the alternative energy credo, as well as, address shortcomings with current truck platforms. Such features include; rearward battery skid placement which serves to improve handling sans payload, a compound tailgate feature that allows for multiple cargo containment possibilities, and partially exposed battery skid creates conscience connection between cargo placement and energy source of the vehicle.
Hummer H
Sam Bell
The Hummer H byt Sam Bell is heralded as the 'first green friendly' Hummer. It is an all-terrain E-Flex vehicle that aims to offer incredible flexibility.
Bell asks potential users to "Imagine driving comfortably and affordably halfway across the U.S. on two tanks of gas". In his scenario, the user ends up in Moab, Utah - arguably the off-road mecca od the U.S. - in a vehicle capable of scaling slick Rock.
The tag line for the Hummer H is "Enjoy nature and preserve nature".
