UX/UI Manager

The role:

The User Experience (UX) / User Interface (UI) Manager will help to design and build the interactive graphical interfaces for our vehicle program. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of excellence and a thorough working knowledge of User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) Design. They will be a part of the team responsible for defining how people interact with Re:Car products. The ideal candidate will be proficient at establishing User Interface (UI) standards, design hierarchy, ease of use, and consistency across Re:Car products – in and out of vehicle.

Key responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the UX/UI Manager include but are not limited to the following:

  • Promote, and advise stakeholders on, the user-centric approach and apply UX methodologies to validate and inform design decisions.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders, Brand, Design and HMI, Engineering and Software teams.
  • Utilize software skills in latest versions of UX prototyping tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite / Figma, etc.
  • Design and create a wide variety of UX deliverables based on project definitions and requests from individual stakeholders, including wireframes, screen flows, graphics, prototypes, animations, etc.
  • Visual design of digital and interactive systems, products, services, and apps – responsive or adaptive for common devices
  • Create research-driven, data-informed designs that meet users’ needs and motivations.
  • Define the structure and methodology of UX testing, including the development of a summative test methodology.
  • Performs closed-loop validation of UX project execution of advanced projects
  • Expertly articulate ideas, design decisions, and HMI recommendations to senior-level stakeholders

Qualification requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in the technical field of UX/UI Design (e.g., Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science, Product Design, Graphic Design, Human factors, Interaction Design, User-centered Design) or comparable degree
  • Five years of professional work experience, as a user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, graphic designer, or similar UX-related role
  • An excellent command of interface design and evaluation; thorough knowledge and experience of a range of UX research approaches and methodologies is a must
  • Ability to write and conduct User Interface Testing using HMI protocol
  • Mastery of rapid prototyping tools (i.e., InVision, Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud)
  • Exhibit passion for emerging technologies, new interaction models, apps, and interactive interfaces of popular consumer electronics
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Proficient in both writing and speaking the English language

Desirables:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in UX/UI design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Product Design, Graphic Design, or related UX/UI degree
  • Ability to generate interactive prototypes in HTML, JavaScript, & CSS is a plus
  • Portfolio and or online body of work is a strong plus
  • Experience in automotive, or consumer electronics industries in the capacity of design or ergonomic-related fields
  • Experience working within an agile development process
  • Proficient in all UX/UI Design disciplines. (Visual Design, Information Architecture, Content Strategy, Interaction Design, Usability, User Research, Product Design
