Miles Nürnberger is set to take the design director role at the Dacia & LADA Business Unit starting 1 September, 2021. He will also join its management committee, and will report to Laurens van den Acker, executive vice president of corporate design and member of the board of management of Renault Group.

“We are very pleased to welcome Miles Nürnberger into our team at such an exciting time for the Dacia brand,” commented van den Acker. “Miles is a renowned designer who has inspired many with his work at Aston Martin. His experience and passion for building strong brands through design will be a great asset for Dacia and help us project Dacia into the future.”

Nürnberger spent over 13 years at Aston Martin, climbing his way up from design manager when he started in 2008 to director of design in 2018. He worked several key models for the brand, including the DB11 and DBX. Nürnberger also held roles at Citroen and Ford, and is a graduate of Coventry University.

In an interview with Car Design News contributor Guy Bird, Nürnberger and Leighanne Earley spoke of their early exposure to design and the way in which they work together.

The news of Nürnberger’s appointment comes soon after Alejandro Mesonero-Romanos left the role having been in it for just eight months, opting instead for a new job at Alfa Romeo.
