Heavy duty trucks are complex machines that are built with one primary purpose: shuttling large quantities of goods from one place to another.
It might seem simple, but the reality of the job means truck cabs are not only for driving, but also sleeping, eating, relaxing and filling out paperwork. It is a home, office, kitchen and bedroom all in one.
In this livestream, we address questions such as:
How can designers create inviting interiors that optimise the space available for a better work-life balance
How can new technology be integrated without feeling intrusive or overwhelming
And how can designers help change the perception of long-haul trucking and address growing driver shortages?

Jeff Cotner

Daimler Truck North America
For more than two decades, Jeff has designed and led teams that push the boundaries of truck design and elevate the brands they support. He began his career with Ford, Mack Trucks, and Volvo Trucks, where he gained extensive experience in transportation design.
In 2017, Jeff joined Daimler Truck North America, where he leads the creative team responsible for developing concept proposals for future truck designs. In this role, he has overseen the exterior and interior design development of the award-winning Western Star X Series and the fifth-generation Freightliner Cascadia, recipient of the 2025 Red Dot Award.
Jeff graduated from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan, with a degree in Transportation Design.
Wenyu Wu

FAW Munich R&D GmbH
Wenyu Wu is the lead interior designer of the FAW TL.X Concept Truck. His career began at MUNIQ Design, where he worked on a wide range of transportation products. Before joining FAW Munich in 2023, he had gained extensive production experience with brands including AVATR, Scania, and CRRC.
Wenyu holds a bachelor's degree in Vehicle Engineering from Tsinghua University, and a master's degree in Transportation Design from Umeå Institute of Design. Guided by a human-centric design philosophy, he believes that true innovation emerges from interdisciplinary knowledge and practice.
