As Chinese consumers increasingly define the global standard for automotive luxury, carmakers are reimagining interiors with bold colour palettes, advanced materials, and culturally resonant design cues. OEMs are moving beyond mere comfort and functionality, integrating storytelling, technology and craftsmanship to create an interior experience that feels uniquely premium. In this evolving landscape, Dinamica, a pioneer in non-woven suede, has emerged as a key collaborator, helping automakers deliver interiors that resonate with both global and local sensibilities.

Chinese consumers increasingly seek environments that blend expressive design, tactile sophistication and subtle cultural references. “Bolder interior colour palettes, bespoke perforations and intricate embellishments are becoming common in high-end models,” explains Max Sun, Vice General Manager for China. “Our materials are designed to complement these trends, bringing soft, sensorial textures that contrast beautifully with hard surfaces such as metals, plastics and screens.”

Dinamica is more than a material supplier, it is an active design partner

Dinamica has been active in China for over two decades, offering a diverse product range that spans vehicle segments and interior applications. From seating and door panels to consoles and even overhead systems, the brand’s Italian heritage and craftsmanship provide a base of elegance and exclusivity, while its global trend research ensures relevance for local consumers.

Dinamica is more than a material supplier, it is an active design partner. OEMs routinely involve the company during the interior design phase, integrating its expertise in colour, surface design, engineering and brand strategy.

A case in point is the Xpeng P7, where Dinamica collaborated with XPENG’s CMF team to develop a unique perforation pattern for the seats, aligning with the carmaker’s “Next Design” philosophy. Beyond aesthetics, the material was engineered for high wear and ageing resistance, meeting the Chinese market’s emphasis on long-term vehicle value retention.

Even small details, such as the Dinamica logo tag stitched into the seats, help convey a subtle yet distinctive “cool tech” identity that complements Xpeng’s futuristic design language.

This hands-on approach reflects a broader trend: automakers want interiors that are not only visually striking but also engineered to deliver durability, comfort and a clear brand narrative. Dinamica's foresight process, driven by global Trend Research and Advanced Design Collections, allows the company to rapidly create materials that satisfy these complex demands.

China’s premium and luxury automotive segment is increasingly attentive to details that elevate the overall interior experience. Overhead systems, once overlooked, are now being treated as critical design elements. Dinamica has responded with solutions such as roller blind shades that combine luxury comfort with technical precision, demonstrating the brand’s ability to merge tactile appeal with engineering performance.

Dinamica's extensive product portfolio allows for flexibility in design. Different textures, finishes and surface treatments can be deployed to create interiors that are simultaneously modern, luxurious and culturally relevant. For Chinese consumers, this often means blending traditional motifs and heritage elements with contemporary luxury design, creating a nuanced sense of cultural sophistication.

Dinamica helps OEMs create interiors that are at once globally sophisticated and locally resonant

Luxury interiors are defined as much by touch as by sight. Dinamica emphasises sensorial experience, adding softness and refinement to spaces that might otherwise feel dominated by metal, glass or plastic. “Our Italian brand heritage brings craftsmanship that conveys exclusivity,” Sun notes.

“But OEMs have the flexibility to integrate Chinese interpretations of luxury, adding Neo-Chinese design elements that reflect cultural identity while enhancing the overall premium feel.”

The result is an interior where every surface, from the seats to the overhead panels, feels deliberate, high-quality and evocative. In a market where consumers increasingly value both visual and tactile refinement, this approach has become a distinguishing factor for high-end vehicles.

China’s automotive market is not just about aesthetics, sustainability and innovation are growing priorities. Dinamica has introduced Dinamica Infinity, a mono-material with higher recycled PET content than the existing Pure line. Recyclability, end-of-life solutions and environmental responsibility are increasingly important to Chinese OEMs and consumers, and Infinity positions Dinamica at the forefront of luxury materials.

Localising production in Italy, the USA and China further allows the company to optimise distribution and reduce carbon emissions, while collaborations with international certification bodies ensure transparency and credibility in both production and commercial practices.

As Chinese consumers continue to redefine luxury, automakers are responding with interiors that balance technology, culture and craftsmanship. Dinamica’s combination of Italian heritage, global design foresight and technical expertise positions it as a vital partner in this transformation. By delivering materials that are beautiful, durable and adaptable to regional tastes, Dinamica helps OEMs create interiors that are at once globally sophisticated and locally resonant, a true reflection of the next generation of automotive luxury.
