Frankfurt 2017: Aspark Owl

Aspark Owl is a peculiar Japanese electric hypercar looks like it’ll be a real hoot

Top marks for an original name – the OWL is a Japanese hypercar with a headline-grabbing 0-100km/h sprint of 2.0 seconds.

Sporting a curious mix of GT racing car surfacing and vent treatments, combined with some surprisingly sedate graphics around the DLO and A-pillar, the OWL is an intriguing cacophony of influences and styles.

The OWL’s ‘beak’ profile looked to have been tweaked by windtunnel hours and is a little inelegant from some viewpoints.

Very little information was available at launch about the OWL’s design development, with ASPARK’s efforts obviously focused on preparing the model for Frankfurt, so we’re eagerly looking forward to getting more of the background to this spectacular machine as soon as we can.
