Geneva 2016: Abarth goes rallying
Celebrating 40 years since Abarth last went rallying, CDN sees the vehicle in the flesh in Geneva
Although FCA keeps its concept cars to itself, rarely letting them see the light of day, it’s nice to see at least one non-production model on display in Geneva.
Marking 40 years since Abarth last took to the World Rally stages, the 124 is a fully-FIA homologated R-GT rally car, complete with a roll-cage, bucket seats and stripped out, albeit alcantara-clad interior.

The car features specially developed lamp pods with quick release fittings, and the convertible roof has been ditched in favour of a composite hard top.

A retro livery helps set off what’s quite an unlikely rally car rather well. We look forward to seeing how it does when it hits the stages.
