Geneva 2018: Subaru Viziv Tourer

Subaru, the quirky Japanese company, shows what could be its future estate/wagon the Viziv Tourer Concept

Published Modified

At the Geneva Show, Subaru introduced its Viziv Tourer Concept. Following close on the heels of the Viziv Performance STI concept introduced in at the Tokyo Auto Salon last year, this near-future Subaru prototype has some industry observers thinking that this may signal a return to a WRX- type wagon format after years of creeping SUV-type packaging in the product line. Others think it may predict a future production Outback

The Viziv shows a more sculpted and athletic form with more of a wagon architecture with its long roof. Yes, the roof slopes, but not like a four-door coupe. A more aggressive front mask and DRG accompany the athletic form.

This is a concept, of course, so pesky details like mirrors door handles, hatch access, etc. are absent. But it looks like a promising form, and we’re hoping for the best as the Viziv will be presented, according to Subaru, in production form around 2020.
