Pforzheim Transportation Design summer show part 2: Kia

In the second of a series of articles, Car Design News looks at the recent cooperation between OEMs and Pforzheim University. This time, we look at the collaboration with Kia

Published Modified

Pforzheim University has built a strong network of OEM partners in a bid to give its students access to a professional environment. The design school’s latest show included work produced in collaboration Kia, MAN and Geely (which you can see here) and it is the former that we will be focussing on in this feature.

The team at Kia Design Center Europe, based in Frankfurt, asked Bachelor Programme students in their fourth and sixth semesters to work on an exterior and interior design brief respectively. The aim was to reflect Kia’s “Opposites United” design philosophy, drawing inspiration from the contrasts between nature and humanity and expressing those contrasts through 3D physical models.
