Tokyo 2015: Honda Grom 50 Concept One is a baby Ducati Scrambler
Tiny off-road bike concept makes you want to jump on a take a ride
Alongside the new-car debuts of the predominantly Japanese carmakers, a number of new bikes have also popped up on show stands. The Honda Grom Scrambler 50 Concept One, to give it its full title, caught our eye for the fact that it looks great, and not unlike a shrunken version of Ducati’s Scrambler.
Aside from the micro-off-roader stance, the detailing is simple but very well done. For example, the neat sump guard and straightforward near-90-degree bend in the exhaust shout simple toughness…
… while the rear-view mirror integration on the handlebars and Scrambler-alike LED headlamp give a modern, distinctly upmarket feel.
The upshot is it just makes you want to jump on and take a scramble around the Big Sight show halls.
