CDN: We spoke about a lot of things today, from off-roader tends, protecting and building a brand, storytelling and AI. One thing we didn’t talk about was sustainability and how that plays out in society?
Klaus Zyciora: Yeah, I think it’s very important to look at design from a standpoint of ecological behavior. The responsibility of designers to drive consumers to electrification should not go unnoticed, and the adoption rate here in China is much higher than in other countries.
The reasons for that are actually more consumer-oriented: it’s more affordable and the product just delivers big time. In digital assets you have a lot more experiences, noise and harshness is much lower, your ride is comfortable, and of course autonomous driving is playing a big role also. So in China, you do a responsible purchase decision that is affordable and over the long run that should be our mission as designers, to make sure that we create attractive electric or electrified products that drive people and consumers into making the right decisions. That’s our responsibility.
CDN: It’s a big responsibility. Klaus, thank you for sharing your thoughts.
KZ: Always a pleasure to be with you.
CDN: See you next time. Maybe see you in Beijing.
KZ: I hope so!
