Watch: Low-volume high-performance car design

Designers from Koenigsegg and Pininfarina discuss the advantages and challenges of designing cars that will be produced in low volumes

Stepping away from the status quo and showing how design can be approached differently – the underpinning theme of this live Q&A which features Sasha Selipanov of Koenigsegg, Luca Borgogno of Automobili Pininfarina, and Jhan Dolphin of Prefix. The three voice their frustrations over legacy processes that have prevented design from moving forward.

“It is hard to make a difference in a large company because you are shoehorned into a job description that only does justice to 20% of your brain capacity,” Selipanov says. He believes that designers need to be free of shackles, given the green light to think outside the box and perhaps even work in the fields of engineering and product management.

Featuring:

  • Sasha Selipanov, Head of Design and Managing Director at RAW Design House, Koenigsegg Automotive
  • Luca Borgogno, Chief Design Officer, Automobili Pininfarina
  • Jhan Dolphin, Vice President Business Development, Prefix Corporation
