Inside the Hyundai Seven concept

Hyundai Seven concept open doors HERO

Senior vice president and head of global design SangYup Lee sits inside the new Hyundai Seven concept with the Car Design News team

Kick back and relax – the message from Hyundai for occupants of its latest concept car, the Seven. The electric SUV has numerous compelling exterior design details, but CDN was lucky enough to sit inside the concept alongside Hyundai’s head of global design SangYup Lee, shortly after the car had made its global world premiere at the 2021 LA Auto Show.

“This is a living space for families, like a home away from home,” Lee said. “As you can see, it’s not really a typical automotive interior, we have this furniture layout. All the materials we have used are recycled, like the bamboo wood and carpet, and the mineral plaster on the doors, for example. This has really allowed us to create something new and fresh, but also comfortable and relaxing.”
