Rolls-Royce announces Black Badge Spectre
The Rolls-Royce Black Badge Spectre makes its global debut in a new Vapour Violet paint finish
Rolls-Royce has unveiled the Black Badge Spectre, a bold new iteration of its all-electric super coupe.
As the most powerful Rolls-Royce in history, this striking model integrates the rebellious spirit of the Black Badge sub-brand with impressive performance abilities and memorable aesthetics. This new model has advanced Rolls-Royce’s design language, with new materials, finishes and technology.
Chris Brownridge, chief executive of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars said: “Reflecting the Black Badge character, our designers and artisans realised their most dramatic and provocative vision with vivid details and exquisite contemporary crafts. The result is Black Badge Spectre: the alter ego of our brand, amplified.”
The Black Badge Spectre debuts a new Vapour Violet exterior finish, inspired by 1980s and 1990s neon club culture, paired with an Iced Black bonnet for contrast.
One of the clearest statements of power and purpose we have ever made
The vehicle’s stance is enhanced by a new 23-inch, five-spoke forged aluminium wheel design – offered in either a part-polished or full-black finish. A new lower ‘waft’ coachline is also available, further accentuating the crisp design line on the lower third of the car. Shoulder and Fender coachline options are still available.
The Pantheon Grille now features a coloured illuminated feature, available in five hues: Tailored Purple, Charles Blue, Chartreuse, Forge Yellow and Turchese. The grille surround, Spirit of Ecstasy and other exterior brightwork elements (including door handles and window trims) are finished in dark chrome, aligning with the Black Badge’s signature aesthetic. Brownridge describes the Black Badge Spectre as “one of the clearest statements of power and purpose we have ever made.”
Bespoke customisation extends to a palatte of 44,000 available colours or the option to create a hue exclusively for the customer. It’s clear the exterior design will meet expectations of Black Badge clients, who seek a more unconventional approach to luxury.
Inside, the illuminated fascia features a unique pattern – an abstract expression of the Spirit of Ecstasy that now incorporates the infinity symbol used in the Black Badge family. The fascia is made up of over 5,500 ‘stars’ of varying sizes and set in a Piano Black ‘sky’. This diamond-shaped weave uses carbon and fine metal thread on top of a black Bolivar wood base, adding depth.
The instrument dials can be personalised with a choice of five colour themes: Vivid Grellow, Neon Nights, Cyan Fire, Ultraviolet and Synth Wave, so customers can harmonise the physical and digital surfaces (or ‘phygital’ as Car Design News likes to call it) within the motor via the Spirit operating system.
The Black Badge infinity symbol is also stitched into the leather ‘waterfall’ section, that separates the rear seats.

The Black Badge series is tailored for a distinct group of Rolls-Royce customers, who often operate outside traditional luxury norms, craving something individual and tailored to their preferences.
In fact, Rolls-Royce developed the Black Badge Spectre based on client data, analysing driving patterns and preferences to refine the driving experience. The client demographic preferred technical finishes, darker aesthetics and vivid contrasts – something that you can see has been tailored for through the use of technical fibre on the Spectre.
