Former Tata design boss Pratap Bose joins Mahindra
Mahindra has made a new role that will see former Tata design kingpin Pratap Bose act as design head for several different business sectors, from passenger cars to farm machinery
In the latest round of personel movements at Mahindra, Pratap Bose, former VP global design at Tata, has been appointed to lead the company’s newly formed global design organisation. He will oversee all projects at the Mahindra Advanced Design Europe (M.A.D.E), which is currently under construction in Coventry, UK, and at the Mahindra India Design Studio (M.I.D.S) in Mumbai.
Bose will work across a wide variety of business segments in his new role, include the design of passenger cars, last mile mobility solutions, Peugeot scooters, light commercial vehicles, large commercial vehicles, and tractors and farm machines. The latter is of particular importance, explains Rajesh Jejurikar, executive director, auto and farm sectors, Mahindra and Mahindra.
“We are at an inflection point in our auto and farm sectors growth journey as we accelerate our transformative initiatives,” he says. ”Our robust pipeline of 23 new products that will be launched in the next five years would bring our design and advanced engineering capability across automotive, farm equipment and two wheels to the fore. Having Pratap on the team will strengthen our design capability, enhance our products and wider our customer base.”
In April 2021, Bose exited from Tata after 14 years at the company with Martin Uhlarik replacing him as global head of design and Aurelien Doisy becoming the new head of design Europe at Tata Motors.
