Pratap Bose leaves Tata Motors; Martin Uhlarik new design head
Martin Uhlarik is taking over from Pratap Bose as the global design head of Tata Motors
Martin Uhlarik is taking over as the new global design head of Tata Motors, replacing Pratap Bose. He will oversee the work of teams in each of the three Tata Motors design centres in Coventry (UK), Turin (Italy), and Pune (India).
Uhlarik joined Tata Motors back in 2016 as head of UK design. He is credited with leading the development of the company’s “Impact 3” vehicle generation – Tata’s name for its latest design philosophy.

His latest role was head of design for Tata Motors European Technical Centre (TMETC), which is located in Coventry. He will continue to operate from TMETC and will report to Shailesh Chandra, president, passenger vehicle business unit, Tata Motors.
Tata has been open in stating that Bose is moving to pursue “opportunities outside the company.”
At the last Car Design Dialogues event, Martin Uhlarik and Pratap Bose presented the Tata Sierra concept, and along with the wider design team, unpicked each element of the vehicle. Bose posted a farewell message on his Linkedin profile in which he praised his colleagues.
