
Stephane Janin to lead GAC Advanced Design Europe
GAC has appointed Stephane Janin, former Renault concept car lead, to head up its new design studio in Milan, Italy
Stephane Janin has been appointed director of GAC Advanced Design Europe. He will oversee operations at the company’s new facility in Milan, which is scheduled to open in 2022.
“Stephane Janin joining GAC Design reflects the growing international influence and appeal of GAC Design, and we are very excited to be able to widen the appeal to the rich design talent resources of Europe to cement our lead in the industry,” says Fan Zhang, VP of design, GAC. “And with his experience and design vision, Stephane is a perfect designer to lead our continued commitment for innovation in our upcoming Advanced Design studio in Europe.”
Janin was formerly head of Renault’s concept car design department, having spent 20 years at the French OEM. He led teams to create several influential concepts, including the Renault EZ series and Renault Trezor. He also worked with various brands under the Renault Group umbrella, like Dacia and Alpine, as well as Renault’s partners like Nissan, Infiniti and Samsung.
