ArtCenter Graduates – Fall 2018

Take a look at the latest student car design projects from California’s ArtCenter College of Design

Published Modified

We travelled to Pasadena to review ArtCenter’s third graduating class of the year.

As with the Summer graduates, ArtCenter held a big show at the Pasadena Convention Center, where all the disciplines could gather together, displaying the prodigious talent that has passed through the college this year.

There did not seem to be a dominating theme from this trimester’s cohort, but autonomy and electric power are pretty much a given in any project. We see more adventure vehicles of various types, and are seeing a consideration of brands beyond just vehicles – entire lifestyles are being considered. Flying cars are making more of an appearance too. Interior projects continue to increase in number, highlighting a trend we noticed a couple of years ago.

ArtCenter allows the students to display up to three projects (assuming space is available), so students sometimes display their work as an ensemble, rather than just one project that aims to the be climax of their ArtCenter experience.

Click through the names listed in the sidebar to see the projects in separate galleries, each of which also includes a brief description of each project.
