LA 2018: Audi e-tron GT Concept debuts
While we await the all-electric Porsche, Audi has revealed a taste of its upcoming offering in the new e-tron GT Concept
Audi continued its series of e-tron concepts Wednesday with the debut of the four-door GT.
Somewhat similar in size and silhouette to the A7, the e-tron is a bit of a mixed bag of Audi styling with lots of lines and surfaces, making the car seem very sleek in some views, but busy and overwrought in others. The tail lights have generated some considerable critique.

The technical specifications are, as expected, in the overachiever class; 590 horsepower, 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds, top speed of 149 mph and an estimated range of 248 miles. The E-Tron GT is powered by a 90-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery, and Audi claims both wireless and 800-volt charging capabilities. With the 800 volt system, Audi expects the E-Tron GT could achieve an 80 percent charge in just 20 minutes.

But it is the design that is getting all the attention. These photos, taken just after the reveal, show the car on the turntable, with Audi design director Marc Lichte giving a tour of the car to visiting dignitaries. Scroll through the photos and decide for yourself if the car represents a positive turn for the future of Audi design or if Mr. Lichte and his team need to return to the drawing board.
