Genesis reveals GV60 electric coupé crossover

Genesis GV60

Genesis has launched an all-electric coupé crossover the GV60, which marks the aspiring luxury brand first foray into a dedicated EV platform

Genesis, the premium arm of the Hyundai group, has unveiled what it calls a coupé crossover utility vehicle (CUV) – a high-performance electric car that with luxury aspirations. It is the first Genesis model to be built on the dedicated electrified E-GMP (Electric-Global Modular Platform) and measures 4,515L x 1,890W x 1,580H x 2900WB.

The front end features a brace of stretched and stacked headlights, which sit above Genesis’ crest-style grille, lowered to deal with the cooling requirements of a performance EV. Echoing aesthetics from the award-winning Ioniq 5, the GV60 features a clamshell bonnet comprising a single panel that combines both bonnet and fenders, adding fluidity to the design. However, in contrast to the aforementioned Ioniq’s folded paper aesthetic, the GV60 is notable for its lack of creases and character lines, presenting a seamless minimalism emboldened by a wide stance and muscular curves. In essence, this is a jacked-up coupe with a long wheelbase (2900mm) tempered by a short overhang.
