Volkswagen injects a bit of spice into ID4 GTX

HERO ID4 GTX

The new Volkswagen ID4 GTX is the most powerful addition to the company’s ID4 line-up, and features some unique design details

The ID4 was first shown back in 2020, taking on a measured approach to design with little in the way of fanciful frills. Enter the ID4 GTX – the new top-of-the-range variant that adds power, poise and some pretty design details to the model.

VW describes this new variant as the “sporty flagship of the ID4 model series.” Key to this is its new all-wheel drive powertrain layout which includes two electric motors, one sitting on the front axle and the other sitting on the rear axle. Together, they produce a maximum output of 220kW or 295bhp, enabling acceleration from 0 to 62mph in 6.2 seconds. There is also a new ‘Sports Package’ trim that includes various tweaks to the suspension system as well as a 15mm lowering of the ride height.
