紧随全球汽车论坛在武汉的举办，2014全球汽车论坛首届汽车造型设计大赛暨紫砂杯汽车造型设计大赛在宜兴落下帷幕大赛旨在促进新一带的设计师把中国传统文化融汇到创意设计中形成未来汽车的设计新趋势。尽管带有浓浓的中国风，大赛向也邀请向世界各地的设计师参赛。参赛者需要设计他们的梦想跨界车型，评委们希望寻找‘打破传统束缚和颠覆传统习惯"的作品评审团由7名业内专业人士组成：陈群一 - 设计总监， 阿尔特汽车技术股份有限公司Luciano D'Ambrosio - 造型总监，阿尔特汽车技术股份有限公司James Hope - 设计总监，奇瑞汽车 Guy Burgoyne - 设计总监，吉利汽车Magnus Aspegren - 创意咨询总监，宝马汽车上海设计室Diana Kloster - 色彩和面料经理，大众汽车Abel Sampson - 出版人，Car Design News 6部作品最终获得3个铜
